‘Flood Off’ campaign 2011
South Bank asked map creative to come up with some ideas in response to the dreadful devastation caused by the 2011 floods. Media was reporting that South Bank was closed yet retailers were operational and this was causing confusion for the general public and a loss to retail trading. map creative had 12 hours to come up with ideas to communicate widely that South Bank was open for business. Whilst cheeky the tag-line ‘Floods can Flood off’ tapped into the heart of what Queenslander’s were feeling. Research showed that people took to the tagline warmly. A large activation campaign and advertising campaign was run using most forms of media. A viral campaign was conducted also using just the stickers. A team of people handed stickers out to general public throughout various high traffic locations in Brisbane.
